Plication Of Gastric Sleeve

This procedure is often performed in patients who have previously had the gastric sleeve, and have significantly stretched out their stomach pouch, which allows them to eat large portions of food without feeling satiated.

The procedure is performed laparoscopically using a few tiny skin incisions. The dilated stomach pouch is folded inwards using rows of sutures to create a smaller functional stomach. There is no cutting or removing of the stomach.
This results in a narrow stomach pouch with much smaller capacity, causing satiety after a small amount of food, thus facilitating weight loss.
