Overstitch Procedure

Endoscopic Revision of Stomach Pouch and Outlet

In an effort to continually offer the latest technological advanced procedures to his patients, Dr. Mehta is proud to present the Overstitch® Endoscopic Suturing System. This procedure can be performed on those who’ve had gastric bypass and have stretched out their stomach pouch over the years.  General anesthesia is used for patient comfort, following which, an endoscope and the Overstitch® device is passed through the patient’s mouth and into the stomach pouch.  Using this device, the stomach outlet is sewn smaller, and the pouch size is significantly reduced.  This allows patients to feel satiated after only a few bites of food. People get a feeling of stomach restriction that they had lost over the years.  This can help restart weight loss.  As always, it’s pertinent to adhere to a healthy diet and active lifestyle for optimal results.

If you’re interested in the Overstitch® Procedure, feel free to ask Dr. Mehta if this may be a good option for you, as well as the expected weight loss in your particular situation.
