You’re considered an ideal candidate for bariatric surgery if you meet any of the following criteria:
BMI 18 – 25 Heathly Weight BMI 25 – 30 Overweight BMI 30 – 35 Obese Class I BMI 35 – 40 Obese Class II BMI 40 – 50 Obese Class III BMI > 50 Obese Class IV
Surgical options via bmi
Gastric Plication BMI > 30 Gastric Band BMI > 30 Gastric Balloon BMI 30-40 Gastric Sleeve BMI > 35 Gastric Bypass BMI > 35
Your BMI is 40 or higher
If your BMI is 40 or greater, you will likely qualify for surgery.
Your BMI is 35 or more and you have coexisting medical problems
If you have a BMI of 35 or greater and you’ve been diagnosed with coexisting medical problems (comorbidities) related to your obesity, you will likely qualify for surgery.
Your BMI is 30-35
If you have a BMI between 30 and 35, you may qualify for Gastric Plication, Lap-Band® or Realize® Band.
Your BMI is below 30
If your BMI is below 30, you may qualify for laser liposuction, and our medical weight loss program.
SURGERY FOR DIABETES
If you have diabetes, you may qualify for bariatric surgery despite what your weight is. It has been shown that bariatric surgery is amongst the best treatments for curing diabetes, and may even cure it in people who are not obese.
